What is Dolphin Friendly?

While I was enjoying my breakfast with crackers & Tuna spread this morning, the little label of dolphin on the can of tuna spread caught my attention. (I love dolphins because they are gentle and also they are the icon of MOPAS). The can was labelled "Dolphin Friendly". I finished off the bite in haste, and Google search on this topic. Then only I know the story.

According to Wikipedia, Dolphin Friendly label refers to fishes (tuna) caught without harming or killing the dolphins. This is because dolphins usually face a threat from being a bycatch in tuna fisheries.

Glad that I learn something new today! :-)
