(image scanned from Pelita Brunei, 11th February 2009) In conjunction with the silver jubilee of Brunei's independence, the postal services will be issuing commemorative stamps and official first day envelopes during the national day celebration on Feb 23.
Fourteen post office branches nationwide will be open on Feb 23 for the public to buy special issues.
Eight stamp designs will be issued at 25 cents each and two envelope designs priced at 45 cent each.
One mini edition priced at $25 each and one special mini edition at $25 each will also be issued.
The branches open on Feb 23 will be Stamp Gallery, BSB, Mail and Packages Processing, Seri Kompleks, Muara, Sengkurong, LTAB, Kiulap, Kuala Belait, Seria, Telisai, Lumut, Tutong and Bangar.
The services will be open from 8am to 3pm.
Sales will also be held at Hassanal Bolkiah National Stadium from 6.30am until the event ends.
Sales will also be held at the Giant Shopping complex in Rimba from 9am to 4pm. Order forms will be distributed to all post office branches starting today.
